KYUNGLUCK SOHN, President and CEO, Director
 

Mr. Sohn become President and CEO of Harvest Operations in July 2014. He had previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer of Harvest Operations Corp. from 2009 to 2012 and thereafter remained on the Board of Directors of Harvest Operations Corp. Mr.Sohn began his career at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co Ltd. in Korea before joining the Korea National Oil Corporation where he has worked for 30 years. His experience includes finance, offshore rig operation and petroleum market intelligence among other areas. Most recently, he held the position of Vice President, Finance Management Department of KNOC.

 

 

 

 

 

John Wearing, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Wearing is a Professional Engineer and the Chief Operating Officer of Harvest Operations. Mr. Wearing has been with Harvest since 2011. Prior thereto, he most recently held the position of Director, Corporate Partnerships. John has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and prior to joining Harvest was Acting CEO Of Sulfur Recovery Engineering Inc. and the VP, Operations at CTI Resources among other management level engineering roles. His engineering experience includes operations, production engineering, reservoir engineering and financial analysis. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia (1974).

 

 

 

 

SUNGKI LEE, Chief Financial Officer, DIRECTOR
 

Mr. Lee is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Harvest. Prior thereto, he was the Senior Manager, Asset Optimization at KNOC. He holds a Master of Corporate Finance from Yonsei University.

Mr. Sung is currently the Chief Strategy Officer of Harvest Operations Corp. Prior thereto he was a Senior Manager of Korea National Oil Company's Exploration & Production Auditing Team as well as a Senior Manager of the Exploration and Production Planning Team at KNOC. He has also held the position of finance manager at KNOC Sambidoyong Ltd., a subsidiary of KNOC in Indonesia. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Sungkyunkwan University and an MBA from the same post-secondary institution.

Patrick an, deputy chief operating officer and Vice President, BLACKGOLD
 

Mr. An has over 20 years experience in project management, engineering execution of Oil & Gas facilities development projects and operations of the oil & gas production assets including interfacing with commercial, sub-surface, operations groups, liasions with partner and third party operating companies, government regulators and Legislative bodies. Prior to joining Harvest he was Senior Manager of Production Assets in the Middle East & CIS from 2009 to 2011 and BlackGold project from 2007 to 2008 in KNOC. He holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.

 

 

  

 

 

mark tysowski, general counsel

Mr. Tysowski is responsible for the overall legal affairs of Harvest and advises on commercial, corporate governance and investor relations matters. Mr. Tysowski has advised KNOC on its international oil and gas exploration and development operations since 2004 and been involved with Harvest since KNOC acquired it late 2009.  He assumed the role of General Counsel in July 2012.  Mr. Tysowski holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Saskatchewan and brings over 23 years of legal and business experience in the domestic and international oil and gas industry.  Prior to joining Harvest, Mr. Tysowski spent ten years in private practice with Calgary offices of national Canadian law firms and another decade managing his own successful international legal practice. His career has included postings in Russia, Indonesia and Vietnam.  He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta. 

 

taeheon jang, vice president, global technology research centre

Mr. Jang joined Harvest in February 2014. He has worked for KNOC for the past 19 years and has held positions including Senior Manager, Petroleum Engineering Department, Project Manager, New Venture Team and Business Development Director, Caspian Branch Office. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Mineral and Petroleum Engineering as well as a Masters in Mineral and Petroleum Engineering, both from Seoul National University.

 

Jon lowes, vice president, land

Mr. Lowes has over 35 years of oil and gas experience. He joined Harvest in June 2010.  Mr. Lowes originally started his career with Imperial Oil and over the course of his career has worked for major oil companies, mid-size companies and start-up companies. 

Mr. Lowes has lease administration, contracts, surface, A & D, and area landman experience and most recently was the area landman for Harvest’s Deep Basin area.  Mr. Lowes has a Business Administration Diploma from St. Clair College.

 

Phil Reist, Vice President, Controller
 

Mr. Reist is a Chartered Accountant and holds a BCom degree from the University of Alberta.  Mr. Reist was previously the Controller of Harvest from the February 2006 merger of Harvest and Viking Energy Royalty Trust until he was appointed Vice President, Controller of Harvest on March 16, 2007.   Previously, he served as the Controller of Viking from September 12, 2005, and was the Vice President, Controller of PennWest Petroleum Ltd. from March 2004 to June 2005.  Prior thereto, Mr. Reist was Vice President, Finance and Controller of Petrovera Resources and had previously held accounting related positions of increasing responsibility with Gulf Canada Resources Limited. 

grant ukrainetz, vice president, treasurer
 

Mr. Ukrainetz joined Harvest as Treasurer in August 2012. He is a chartered accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He brings over 20 years of experience within the areas of corporate finance, strategic planning, treasury & banking, risk management, investor relations and financial reporting. Prior to joining Harvest, he served as Treasurer, then Vice President Corporate Development with a junior oil sands company from 2006 to 2012. Prior thereto, Mr. Ukrainetz held progressively senior finance related positions with a senior Canadian producer from 2001 to 2006 and a multi-national oil company from 1994 to 2001. He has also worked in the corporate banking division of a Canadian financial institution and for a public accounting firm.   

 

erik VAN NOORT, VICE PREsident, TECHNICAL SERVICES

Mr. van Noort has over 20 years of energy industry experience in facilities, production, drilling, completions, marketing, business analysis, and project management.

In February 2015, Mr. van Noort became Vice President, Technical Services managing the Drilling, Completions, and Facilities Engineering groups within Harvest.  Prior thereto, he was Area Manager of the North Team since 2009 and Area Manager of the South Team from 2006 through 2009.  Prior to Harvest, Mr. van Noort worked at Imperial Oil from 1994 through 2006 in facilities engineering, project management, and marketing business analysis.

Mr. van Noort holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia (1994) and a Master of Business Administration from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary (2004) and is a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA.

doug walker, vice president, operations and development
 

Mr. Walker has over 30 years of technical and business experience in operations, production, facilities, completions, drilling, reservoir engineering, business development and frontier projects.

He joined Harvest in August 2010 and, prior to his promotion to VP, Engineering in October, 2012, held the position of Area Manager, Peace River Arch and SE Saskatchewan.

Mr. Walker’s prior industry experience includes technical, business and senior management positions with Provident Energy, Noise Solutions, Stellarton Energy, Jordan Petroleum and Gulf Canada Resources.

 

Mr. Walker has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA.
